{Stepping into Spring}

I'd like to put the right foot forward when it comes time to talk about spring shoes. Ha ha ha, so punny. Anyway, despite my major allergies, Spring is pretty great. Here in Maryland, the winter lasts long into March so when warmer weather finally rolls around and with it bright, beautiful colors, everyone in the state is pretty grateful, this year included!
Now while a lot of people tend to jump right into summer clothes, I try to ease myself into it.  So I make a few changes here and there, and mainly focus on bringing brighter colors into rotation. But hey, what's Spring without a few new things? Which is where new shoes become important.
Now I'm not the biggest fan of open-toed shoes. My mom loves to tell the story about the time in eighth grade that I wore sneakers to the beach in St. Thomas because I hated flip flops so much. But, as I've gotten older, I've become a bit more open minded, and do wear sandals pretty frequently in the summer. But even having said that, I try to remain in closed-toed shoes for as long as possible
(whoops.) Here are a few that I really like for Spring!

(fyi, I've already bought the pink vans from JCrew and I am obsessed.)

Recap- {A weekend in Memphis, TN}

To end Spring Break, I spent the weekend in Memphis visiting one of my best friends that had moved there last summer! It wasn't the last time we had seen each other since the move, but it was the first time I had been to see her in her new hometown. So off I went to get my first glimpse at true southern life, and here are a few pictures from my trip!

Obligatory plane picture...

Of course, the first thing we did when I arrived was hit the mall.

Beale Street, home of the Blues!

The stage where Elvis performed his first concert!

Okay, so prepare for photo overload. We went to this adorable doughnut shop called Gibson's, and I couldn't help but snap a few more pictures than was necessary.

My best friend posing for the picture :)

Even Shep and Ian were represented on the wall! #EDSFTG

Ugh, I really wish we had one of these here in MD.

Before I left on Sunday we went to this amazing restaurant for brunch called CafĂ© Eclectic, which had the cutest drawing on the wall. (And it doesn't lie, their coffee was to die for.)

Flying home was extremely sad, but it was time to get back in the groove of school and real life!

What did you do over Spring Break?

{What's in My Carry On}

Traveling is probably one of my favorite things to do. I've been flying since I was little and have since grown to be obsessed with anything travel related. Flying, airports, planes, car rides, rest stops; anything. I love traveling; every aspect of it. So the fact that I am flying to Memphis tomorrow to visit one of my best friends is pretty exciting for me.
Now despite how much I love to fly, it does come with a lot of preparation, which is why I tend to gravitate towards the same few things that I seem to be needing in my carry-on every time I fly. Here they are!

Welcome!

Welcome to the new and improved Chesapeake Classic. For those of you who have been here before, thank you for coming back after my extremely prolonged absence! And for those of you who are here for the first time, thanks for stopping by! After a lot of consideration, I have decided to make my return to the blogging hemisphere although this time name-less and head-less. I have thought about this a lot and with so much going on in my life like school, crew, (I am on my high school rowing team) and other time-consuming activities, this seemed like the easiest way to do what I love without all the pressure that I felt when I first started. In addition to the insane amount of stuff going on in my life, when I was blogging before, I felt like I wasn't acting like myself. I read so many other blogs that had inspired me to start my own my blog, that when I began writing my own posts I thought the only way to be successful was to write using a similar voice. So soon enough, although I loved blogging, I found that my heart wasn't in it. I was trying too hard to be a different person, and the whole point of blogging is to be your own voice. So I am back, head-less as of now, and speaking my mind, the way I want to. Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you'll stay a while!
